Join Meica Danielle Magnani, an Associate Teaching Professor at Northeastern University, to discuss her experience running an environmental ethics course on old growth forest conservation out on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and in Olympic National Park. About the Speaker, Meica Danielle Magnani:

Associate Teaching Professor of Philosophy, Northeastern University. Meica teaches and conducts research in moral philosophy, history of philosophy, environmental ethics, and ethics of computing technology. She is passionate about inciting curiosity in her students and providing them with tools and opportunities for deepening their own self-reflection and understanding of the world around them. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and now lives in the White Mountains.

Film Synopsis:

Thirty years after the historic Clayoquot Sound protests, War for the Woods follows journalist Stephanie Wood as she explores the renewed fight to protect B.C.’s old growth forests through Indigenous-led conservation.

The New Leaf Series is created in partnership with Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust and highlights films about the natural world.
