The Nostalgia of Ice Cream:
In this special pre-screening presentation, two-time James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef Dana Cree will take you on a journey through the creation of ice cream and that special nostalgic feeling that comes with it. Discover how ingredients transform into something magical, and how that magic connects deeply to our earliest and happiest memories.
Bio: Dana Salls Cree, a former pastry chef with over 20 years of experience in some of the world’s top restaurants, founded Pretty Cool Ice Cream in 2018. She has received two James Beard nominations for Outstanding Pastry Chef and won the Jean Banchet Award for Best Pastry Chef. In 2017, she authored Hello My Name Is Ice Cream, an award-winning book that teaches both home cooks and professionals the art and science of ice cream making.
